Galaxy Tab 10.1 comes from Samsung with the latest Android 3.1 Honeycomb software and has an added infrared port for remote function and an expandable memory. This revised version of the Android tablet from Samsung is thinner and about 8.66 inch, with a Galaxy Note, a 5.3 inch and a half tablet-half phone. It runs on the Ice Cream Sandwich version of Android, 1GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM with a 3-megapixel rear camera and a basic VGA front snapper.

The Samsung wants its recent TouchWiz UX tweaks to improve the visual look and feel of the tablet. The Swype support and a resizable keyboard, a mini apps tray along the bottom of the screen, and a collection of widgets live on the home screen are added to the latest Galaxy Tab 10.1. The full version of Polaris Office 3.0 enables one to view/edit Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents.

The use of a Plane to Line Switching LCD is comparable to other phones. The plastic backing is one drawback which is only a matter of personal opinion. The Tab comes in three different size forms – 16, 32, or 64GB of internal memory. The speeds are very high making the internet surfing very smooth. The TouchWiz UX skin adds a lot of usability and functionality to the device.
